I’ve had a lot of special weddings so far this year, but this one was extra special – Melanie is my cousin! I was absolutely honoured when Matt & Mel asked me to photograph their wedding, as I hadn’t actually had the opportunity to venture out into Norwich for a wedding, and I will say, it was fantastic. It was really wonderful to get some lovely pictures of Mel & Matt on their own with city landscapes as well as countryside!
Mel & Matt had quite a small but intimate day with their closest family and friends, first of all having the ceremony at Ashwellthorpe Church and St Giles House Hotel in the Norwich city centre for their reception. What a lovely, grand hotel – so many lovely opportunities for pictures in and around the premises. In particular I loved the chandeliers! You will notice in the ceremony pictures a photo that looks like it’s just of the Church window – if you look closely you’ll see that there’s a beautiful butterfly resting on the window, this particular butterfly stayed for the whole ceremony!
Mel opted for such a lovely, natural look – I love that she did her own hair and make up, and was so chilled during the morning – her dress looked absolutely stunning and I loved the flower crown. Mel & Matt have two lovely children, Zak and Flynn, who are absolutely adorable, and you will see them in a lot of the pictures just being them.
If you’ve met my mum, who often helps me out in the studio, you will probably notice her a lot in the evening dancing photos… Can you tell that she was having a great time?!
